Elastics (Rubber Bands)
Elastics, also called rubber bands, are used to improve the alignment of your upper and lower teeth. For the best results, it’s essential to wear them exactly as prescribed. Consistent use of elastics is key to achieving optimal progress in your treatment.

Forsus™ Appliance
The Forsus™ appliance works alongside elastics to help align your upper and lower teeth, creating a proper bite. For maximum effectiveness, wear as directed. Consistent wear ensures the best results for a properly aligned smile.

Headgear
Headgear is used to correct bite issues, such as overbites (when the upper jaw extends too far beyond the lower jaw) and underbites (when the lower jaw extends forward). It gently applies pressure to guide the growth of the teeth and jaw, helping to achieve proper alignment.

Herbst® Appliance
The Herbst® appliance is designed to correct overbites by guiding the lower jaw forward and the upper molars back. This fixed appliance is typically worn by growing children for 12 to 15 months to achieve the best results.

Palatal Expander
A palatal expander gradually widens the upper jaw by applying gentle pressure to the upper molars. Dr. Bally will guide you on how and when to adjust the device. Once the desired expansion is reached, the appliance stays in place for several months to stabilize the results and prevent the jaw from shifting.

Positioners
Positioners help finalize the final tooth movements toward the end of your orthodontic treatment. Worn for 4 to 8 weeks, with proper use and cooperation, they help achieve the ideal results to complete your smile.

Retainers
Retainers, either removable or fixed, are worn to keep your teeth in their new, corrected positions after treatment. Proper care and following wear instructions are crucial to maintaining your results and preventing your teeth from shifting.

Separators or Spacers
Separators are small rubber rings placed between your teeth to create space for orthodontic bands during your next visit. These will be removed before the bands are applied. Avoid sticky foods and be cautious with toothpicks or floss while wearing separators to prevent damage.
Twin Block Appliance
The Twin Block appliance consists of two separate pieces—one for the upper and one for the lower arch—that work together to guide the lower jaw into a better position. Worn full-time, even while eating, it is comfortable and easy to clean. Made of smooth acrylic with fewer wires, it’s generally more comfortable than other jaw-correcting devices. Consistent use of the Twin Block appliance can improve jaw function, facial profile, and create a more stable, healthy smile.
