Restore Your Smile with Expert Prosthodontics
A healthy, beautiful smile plays a key role in your overall well-being, confidence, and self-esteem. At our office, we use advanced prosthodontic care to help you achieve a natural-looking, functional, and attractive smile.
Prosthodontics, also known as prosthetic dentistry, focuses on restoring and replacing teeth to their proper form, function, and appearance, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and long-term oral health.
As a full-service dental practice, we provide a wide range of prosthodontic treatments. Prosthodontic care is centered on restoring full oral function and aesthetics, addressing a variety of dental conditions, including:
- Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and TMD
- Traumatic injuries affecting the teeth, jaw, or mouth
- Congenital or developmental dental anomalies
- Snoring and other sleep-related disorders
- Oral cancer reconstruction and ongoing post-treatment care
Prosthodontic Treatment Options
In order to restore your smile, we may recommend the following prosthodontic treatments.
Bridges
A dental bridge can replace missing teeth, help preserve the shape of your face, and reduce stress on your bite. It fills the gap with artificial teeth that look natural and restore your smile. Bridges can be crafted from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials, and are securely anchored to the surrounding teeth for support.
Crowns
A crown is a dental restoration designed to improve the shape of a tooth or make it stronger. Crowns are commonly used for teeth that are broken, worn, or damaged by decay. You can think of a crown as a “cap” that is cemented over the existing tooth, covering everything above the gum line. Essentially, the crown becomes the tooth’s new outer surface. Crowns can be made from porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. Porcelain crowns are often preferred because they closely resemble natural teeth in color and translucency while remaining very strong.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is an artificial tooth made of metal and porcelain that looks and functions like a natural tooth. It has two main components: a titanium implant that replaces the missing tooth root, and a tooth-colored crown that is attached on top. With implants, you can smile with confidence, knowing your replacement tooth is virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Dentures
Dentures are natural-looking, removable replacement teeth created by a dentist. There are two main types: full and partial. Full dentures are used when all of a patient’s natural teeth are missing, while partial dentures attach to a metal frame that connects to your remaining teeth, filling in the gaps left by missing teeth.
Fillings
A filling is often used to repair a tooth that is affected by wear, decay, cracks, or fractures. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth is removed and replaced with a filling, which can be made up of many different materials, such as gold, porcelain, composite, ceramic, and plastic compound.
Occlusal Disease Treatment
Occlusal disease occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not align properly, a condition known as malocclusion. If left untreated, it can cause damage to your teeth, the supporting bones and gums, the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the jaw muscles used for chewing. Many people mistakenly assume that excessive or rapid tooth wear is just a normal part of aging, but prosthodontic treatment can help relieve the pain and discomfort caused by occlusal disease.
Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted from tooth-colored materials, such as porcelain, that cover the front surface of your teeth. They look natural and are an excellent option for patients who want to enhance the appearance and feel of their smile.
