Boynton Beach Office:
Dental Implant Procedure in 10 Steps
Sequence of Appointments
-
Initial Consultation
Your journey begins with a consultation with Dr. Kurt O. Bally DMD FICOI to review your dental needs and explore implant options. This appointment usually lasts about an hour and is complimentary, a $525 value. -
Record Collection
Detailed records are taken, including 3D scans, dental x-rays, and photographs. These help create a personalized treatment plan and guide the fabrication of your implants. -
Pre-Surgical Meeting
Before surgery, you will discuss the procedure’s risks, benefits, and recovery process with your dentist. This is also the time to ask questions and clarify expectations. -
Implant Surgery
During this procedure, implants are placed into the jawbone under oral anesthesia. The surgery typically takes around 2 hours per jaw. You leave the office with temporary teeth and return in 1–2 weeks for your first post-op visit and initial prototype teeth. A soft diet is required until your prototypes are in place. -
Prototype Teeth
1–2 weeks post-surgery, your first set of prototype teeth is attached to your implants. Up to three versions may be made during healing to ensure optimal appearance, comfort, and function. These prototypes allow testing and adjustments before the final bridge is created. -
Healing Period
Implants need 4–6 months to fully integrate with your jawbone. A night guard may be provided to protect your implants, and a soft diet should be maintained during this phase. -
Final Prototype and Verification
After healing, a final prototype of your dental bridge is prepared. This step verifies fit, shape, and color, ensuring your new smile is perfect before the permanent bridge is fabricated. -
Permanent Bridge Delivery
Your final zirconia implant bridge is placed during this appointment, usually lasting about an hour. This is a significant milestone, providing a functional, beautiful, and permanent smile. -
Post-Delivery Check
Following placement, your dentist will provide instructions for care, your final night guard, and document the results with photos, X-rays, and video, marking the completion of your implant journey. -
Ongoing Maintenance
Regular checkups and cleanings are essential to maintain your zirconia implant bridge. Your dentist will monitor its function and make adjustments as needed to ensure lasting results.
